Nicholas A. Kittle 91, formerly of Ghent died June 3 at the Park Meadow Nursing home in Gainesville, Fl. Nicholas was born September 22, 1916 in Ghent and was the son of Albert and Anna Bartel Kittle. Nicholas attended Ghent School and went from there to farming and on to become a cattle dealer. He was married on September 22, 1935 to his beloved wife Alice. He was Justice of the Peace for Ghent during the 40's and early 50's, after that he became the Town Supervisor. Nicholas also kept a stable of Standard Breed race horses at the fairgrounds. He was a past member of the Masons and the Shriners. Nicholas is survived by his son George N. (Betty) Kittle of Ghent, daughter; Arlene Keyser of Ocala, FL, eight grandchildren, eighteen great great grandchildren, sister; Florence Felpel, Sister-in-law; Muriel Kittle and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Alice, his son; Donald and brother; Irwin. Graveside services will be held Saturday at the Ghent Union Cemetery at 10am.
