Patrick Edward Casey of Spencertown died March 3rd at the Columbia Memorial Hospital.  He was born March 13, 1936 in Syracuse, NY, to William Edward and Catherine Grover Casey. He later married Marlene Grover who predeceased him in 1999.  Mr. Casey was the Administrator for Columbia County's Department of Weights and Measures for over twenty years until his retirement in 2004.  He was also a member of Spencertown's Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years.  He loved the fire department and his family. He is survived by his son, Mark Casey of Spencertown, NY and his daughter, Kelly Casey of Erwin, NC., his daughter-in-law Claire Casey of N.J. and several grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Marlene and his children; Dawn, James, Brion and David Casey. Family will receive friends at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham on Tuesday March 6th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. A religious service will be celebrated by Rev. Gary Gelfenbien of Saint James Church at 6:30 pm at the funeral home.
