Paul Davis Sr., born on April 6, 1934, in Albany, New York, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023, at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Paul grew up in North Chatham, graduated from high school and embarked on a summer adventure that saw him touring with Borden's Elsie the Cow. This unique experience was a prelude to his commitment to national service, as he entered the Army and served with distinction until 1957. Upon his return to civilian life, Paul worked as a printer.

Married to the love of his life, Shirley Gagnon Davis, for an incredible 68 years, Paul was a devoted husband. Together, they built a family that includes their daughter Bonnie (Gary) Simpkins, their son Paul (Anne) Davis Jr., and their cherished grandchildren Audrey (Alex) Kupsch, Aaron Simpkins, Michelle (Jeff) Leonowitz, and Melissa (Miguel Rivera) Davis. Paul's joy multiplied with the arrival of his seven great-grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable happiness in his later years.

Paul's sister Carol Pinkowski and brothers Ronald, Robert, and Charles Davis, and his many nieces and nephews survive him.

Beyond his family and work, Paul was a man of many interests and talents. He built and piloted remote-controlled model airplanes. His artistic spirit shone through in the large landscape paintings he created, each piece a lovingly crafted gift for family members. Paul enjoyed sewing, where he fashioned clothes and quilts that not only showcased his skill but also his generosity. Bowling was another joy in his life, providing him with cherished moments of camaraderie and friendly competition.

As we bid farewell to Paul, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a man well-loved. His spirit, like his airplanes, soars high, reminding us all to live with passion, create with purpose, and love without reserve.
