Paul Raymond Martin

February 27, 1957 — February 21, 2020

Retired SMsgt Paul Raymond Martin, age 62, of Chatham, NY passed away on February 21, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Paul grew up and was educated in Chatham. After graduation, Paul entered the Air Force and would serve for twenty years. When he returned from active duty he worked for the state for fourteen years until his retirement. He was an active member of the Kinderhook Elks and St. James Knights of Columbus, A life member of the SW Smith Hook and Ladder Company, an active member of the martial arts community obtaining status of a black belt. He enjoyed golfing with his brothers and friends and spending time by the pool Paul is survived by his wife Dawn Anderson-Martin mother, Marilyn Martin, son, Christopher Martin daughter, Jessica Martin, his siblings, Edwin (Lorraine) Martin, Cherylee Endryck, and Adam (Rebecca) Martin, and his grandchildren Jadyn Carruthers, Austin Martin and Ethan Martin. Paul was predeceased by his father Edwin and brothers, Kevin and Steven. Family will receive friends at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham, on Tuesday February 25th from 4-7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. James Church on Wednesday at noon. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Paul's name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Condolences may be conveyed at frenchblasl.com.
