Paula A Frederick (nee Demianczyk) passed away 6/15/23 at Ghent Nursing and Rehab Center after a long illness with her husband and family in close attendance. Paula was born 10/27/39 in Troy NY to her parents Mary and Paul Demmianczyk and grew up in Castleton. After graduating from Maple Hill High School, she went to nursing school at St Peter's Hospital and worked as a registered nurse at Brady Maternity Hospital. While in high school, she met David Frederick and they were married in 1961. They raised three children, moving around for David's job until settling in Chatham in 1972. Paula eventually returned to nursing, which included working at the Chatham Clinic. Then she switched gears and became a realtor for many years. She was very involved in her church, St James, including the director of the religious education program, serving as a trustee, and part of their RCIA program with David. She loved seeing her grandchildren and visited them wherever they lived; she loved gardening, flowers, bird watching, and reading. She is survived by her husband David of 62 years, by her daughter Christine Ossenfort and her husband Craig and their children Trevor Tyler and Taylor; her son Jeff Frederick and his wife Pat and children Chelsea and Alex; her daughter Wendy Sacco and her children Julianne and Alison. She is also survived by her brother and his wife Steve and Bonnie Denianczyk.She was predeceased by another brother Allan Demianczyk. Family will receive friends at The French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home Tuesday, June 20th. from 1-3 pm and celebrate a mass of Christian burial at St James Wednesday, June 21st. at 11am. Interment will be at the St James cemetery Wednesday, July 12th. At 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers you are invited to donate in Paula's name to St James Church or your favorite charity.
