Raymond Allen Kanarr Jr. passed away March 23, 2013, at Albany Medical Center. Born December 11, 1930 in Wilkes Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond Sr. and Lillian Hilborn Kanarr.
Raymond was a 1948 graduate of Memorial High School, West New York, NJ. He enlisted in the Army in 1952, and was accepted to Officers Candidate School. He served as a Second Lieutenant in Korea at Kimpo Army Base.
He was a carpenter by trade and was a foreman with the Empire State Carpenters Union. He also worked for Woolworth Company, and owned Golden Staircase, Inc. in Commack, NY.
Raymond was pre deceased by his wife, Joyce F. Barnes Kanarr and his daughter Wendy Joy Kanarr.
He is survived by his children, Raymond Kanarr Crawford, his wife Karla Crawford of Hillsboro, Oregon and Karen Kanarr DeBell and John W. (Bill) DeBell of Chatham, NY, his grandchildren, Kyra and Alyson Kanarr Crawford of Hillsboro, Oregon, Justin DeBell of Glens Falls, NY and Cory DeBell and Zachary DeBell both of Chatham, NY. He will be missed by his sisters, Ina Mae Kanarr Ceeley (Warren) of Bellevue, WA and Marilyn Kanarr Carroll (Mike) of Heyworth, IL.
