Obituary

Richard K. Moller Jr. a lifetime resident of Chatham died February 24th at home. Born November 28, 1947 in Hudson, he was the son of Rose Navarra Moller of Chatham and the late Richard K Moller Sr. Richard graduated Chatham Schools and worked with his dad at the family's business, the Glass Bar in Chatham, and Richard's located in Hudson.. He also tended bar at Kozel's Restaurant. He graduated from Dutchess Community College and attended Long Island University at the C W Post Campus. His living experiences brought him to other places where he enjoyed his time in; Minnesota, Alaska and Connecticut. Choosing to settle in Columbia County Richard became a corrections officer with the New York State Department of Corrections working at the Hudson Correctional Facility until he retired in December of 2009. He loved his music and his guitar and he loved his golf as well. Richard loved life and people in general. He is survived by his mother; Rose, his sister; Carol Bermingham of Hudson and brother in law John Bermingham, his nephews; John and Peter (Ashley) Bermingham, his many relatives and friends especially  Marybeth and John Rilke. Family will receive friends Tuesday March 2nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl funeral home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham. Religious services will be held Wednesday March 3rd at the funeral home at 10am. Interment will follow at Saint James Cemetery.
