Robert Bailey of Wassaic, New York , formerly of Mt. Vernon, NY was called home by the lord of May 20, 2011 after a short illness. He was the son of the late James and Evelyn Bailey. Robert was born in Chase City, Virginia on February 25, 1951. In 1972 Robert relocated to Mount Vernon, New York where he worked for a number of years at the Endico Company. In the later years of his life he moved to Wassaic where he worked and lived. Robert enjoyed countless visits to celebrate his birthdays and minor holidays by his loving family to his Wassaic residence over many years. He particularly enjoyed traveling home to Mount Vernon for lengthier holiday visits where he knew everyone waited his arrival and looked forward to his warm greeting, appreciation of good food and sharing of good times. Robert was a loving and caring brother and uncle. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, three brothers, Thomas (Linda), Howard, (Yolanda) and Edward Bailey, two sisters, Joanne and Marcia, three nephews, Raymond, Thomas and Sherman, eleven nieces, Melissa, Patricia, Diane, Monique, chantel, Angie, Audrey, Lashauna, Chauita, Alicia and Shamike and a host of family and friends. Funeral services were held at the Wassaic Campus of Taconic DDSO on May, 26, 2011 interment followed at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, New York
