Robert Joseph Scannell. born December 6, 1923 in Montclair NJ. Deceased May 14, 2018 peaceful at his home. Bob was predeceased by his loving wife Elizabeth, Sister Margaret McGrath, brothers Thomas Scannell, John Scannell and James Scannell. Surviving brother William [Marcia], daughters Mary Ann Fricano [Joe}, Nancy Winegard, Marjorie Balder [Cliff], Elizabeth Drury [Jay], Barbara Troiani [Bob] and sons Robert JR and Joseph. Grand children Joseph and Elizabeth Fricano, Melinda Rowley, Marc Losa, Leah Laviazar [Dan], Andrew Scannell, Nicholas Scannell Great grandchildren Sorrel Rowley, Lyssa and Skyler Losa, Danny and Lily Laviazar. Bob was an active member of the St James Catholic church serving on many of the committees over the years. He retired from the Universal Match Factory, and bus driving at Chatham Central School. He spent his retirement years maintaining his property, working outdoors and spending time with his loving family. Bob served in the Army during WWII stationed in England and was a long time member of the Ghent VFW and Ghent Volunteer Fire Company.
