Robert Wesley Sheldon Jr. passed away February 20, 2017 at Craneville Place in Dalton, MA.. Born November 12, 1942 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Robert Wesley Sr. and Dorothy L. Sheldon. He grew up and attended school in Chatham, after graduating in 1961 he went on to Voorness Technical Institute in N.Y. C. where he studied automobile mechanics and graduated in 1963. He worked as horse groomer at different race tracks in the north east. He enjoyed being around horses, enjoyed stock car races and sports especially the Yankees. He is survived by his sisters; Marlene (William) Hammond, Beverly J. Norwood, D. Roberta Haith, Joan Sheldon, and Kathleen J. (Robert) Kruzinski, and a host of other relatives. Robert is predeceased by his sisters, Claudia Pugh and Sharon Brown and nephew Rodney Brown. Calling hours will be Friday, February 24th from 10:30 to noon with religious services following directly at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Chatham Rural Cemetery.
