Obituary

Rocco Anthony DeFronzo on Monday, March 21 "Roc" was called to heaven, surrounded by family and friends. Roc was born in Hartford, CT, the son of the late Anthony Rocco and Charlotte King DeFronzo. Roc was the husband of Patricia Proper of Harlemville, N.Y. He worked for many years as a certified public accountant in his father's CPA firm. He left the CPA field to become owner and operator of Smokey Bear's Farm Market and Cider Mill in Avon, CT where he worked until his retirement. Roc moved to Harlemville, an area he came to love while visiting friends there. He opened a small gun shop, "Your Place for Guns"; Roc loved working there immensely. His customers more often than not became friends and would visit the shop and sit for hours, and many good hunting talks were exchanged. He was an NRA Certified Firearms and Range Instructor. He was president of the Philmont Rod and Gun Club for many years, and also a past president of the Columbia Greene Sportsman's Association. Per Roc's request, there will be no calling hours. Burial will be private at the Ghent Union Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, please support your local food pantry. A celebration of Roc's life will be held Thursday, March 24th from noon to 3pm at the Philmont Rod and Gun Club. 65 Railroad Avenue, Philmont, NY. Condolences may be conveyed at Frenchblasl.com
