Roger F. Herzhauser

Roger F. Herzhauser, a longtime resident of Chatham, passed away on February 9, 2026 at Albany Medical Center. He was born on November 13, 1950, in Staten Island to the late Francis and Gertrude (Keenan) Herzhauser. His family relocated to the Chatham area where he would reside the rest of his life. He retired after a 20 year career with the New York State Comptroller’s office. He will be remembered as a well loved member of the community who enjoyed his daily walks around the village.

Roger is survived by his wife, Jane, son Gregory (Emma) Herzhauser. His grandchildren Charlotte & Henry. He is also survived by his sister, Jeanmarie (Michael) Rodino, brother, Gregory (Celeste) Herzhauser and five nephews.

A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will be on Saturday, February 14th from Noon to 1:00 pm at French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham, NY. There will be a short prayer service at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roger's memory may be made to the Ghent Food Pantry P.O. Box 98, Ghent, NY 12075.
