Rose Marie Hazel of Sharon Springs, NY passed away January 4, 2014. Born in Chatham, NY she was the daughter of the late Claude and Doris Everett Gardina. Rose graduated high school and went on to Potsdam University for her BA and then to George Mason University for her masters. She worked as a teacher at the Prince George County Maryland Public Schools and would later retire from the Prison Fellowship Ministries in Virginia where she was a counselor. She is survived by her husband, William Hazel, daughter, Hillarye (Lee) Hazel Nicely, five grandchildren, her sisters, Claudia (Guy) Yaple, Janice (William) Moore, Rita (John) Hanson and her brother Richard (Lisa) Gardina.
