Ruth Helen (Larson) Goold passed away June 20, 2016 among family at Albany Medical Center. She was born in Albany on March 17, 1931 to Einar and Elsa (Falkman) Larson. Ruth was a teacher's aide for Chatham Central School District, a member of the Tri-Village Auxiliary, and a 4-H leader. Ruth's spare time was filled with family gatherings, aerobics, traveling and above all, countless fishing trips with her beloved husband; where the reading was great, the fishing was good and the catching was (hmm)… She also enjoyed her animals, gardens, bowling, skiing, and one armed bandits. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Alan D. Goold and their beloved dog, Samantha, of Chatham Center; her children, Ricky (Marilyn) Goold, Chatham Center; Debbie (David) Danforth, Milton, VT; Judy (Bernie) Kelleher, Valatie NY; Linda (Tom) Marks, Parker, CO; and Walter (Joan) Goold, North Chatham, NY. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham on Friday, June 24th from 1 to 3pm. A religious service will follow at the funeral home. In lieu of flower contributions in Ruth's name to either the Tri-Village Fire Company or Columbia Greene Humane Society would be appreciated.
