Ruth A Mazal, 82, a lifelong resident of Chatham, died Saturday, March 3rd at Columbia Memorial Hospital. Born In Chatham, October 6, 1924 to Elsworth and Ruth Stupplebean Laurange, she was one of 11 brothers and sisters. She attended Chatham Schools. Mrs. Mazal married Art Mazal and a short time later he went to war in the army under Gen. Patton and was killed. She took care of raising her family and worked cleaning homes and offices. Her life was her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Aside from family she enjoyed the soaps on television, especially The Young and the Restless. She is survived by her son Lenny Mazal of Chatham, her daughters; Judith Curvelo of Clearwater, FL. and Lora Kosnick of Chatham, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Calling hours and services will be private and under the direction of French Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham, NY. Interment will be at the Chatham Rural Cemetery in the spring.
