On Friday, August 30, Sara Jennie Wood Mullins died while on comfort care at Columbia Memorial Hospital, Hudson.  She was 88.  She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, James Patrick Mullins. Family was the most important thing in her life.  Her parents were William and Jennie Wood, her siblings Henry Wood, Donald Wood and Harriet [Wood] Dennis.  She raised her children, Patricia Raup, Henry Mullins and Tami Mullins in "the white house with a porch across from the Dairy Queen in Ghent", where she resided for over 50 years.  She had 5 grandchildren, Joshua Raup, William Raup, J. Patrick Mullins, Katie Mullins and Caroline Mullins as well as 3 great-grandchildren, Erin Raup, Sophia Raup and Lily Raup. She loved her nieces and nephews, Joan [Dennis] Yanacone, William Dennis, David Dennis, Lola [Wood] Springer, Linda [Wood] Burton and Charles Wood, and extended that love to their families. Trained as a nurse at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY during the years of WWII, she spent many years as a homemaker and later as a dental assistant for Dr. Mesick in Chatham, NY. The burial service conducted by Rev. Konrad Raup was held on Monday, September 2 at the Ghent Union Cemetery.  She was a lifelong resident of Chatham and Ghent and proud of it.
