Stanley Czapluk, 81 of Nassau died June 9 at the Whittier Nursing Home in Ghent after a brief illness. Born January 21, 1926 to Joseph and Kathryn Witek Czapluk, Mr Czapluk was a life long resident of Nassau.  He was a Veteran of the Korean Era and had worked most of his life as a roofer. Survivors include his sister, Victoria Metzger; brother, Joseph Czapluk, both of Nassau; nieces Robin Ginett of Grand Island, Fl, Nancy Baker of Chatham, several great nieces and nephews, and his devoted companion Dolores Peterson of Castleton. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth.
