Stephen Richard Walsh, 59 of Nassau, NY passed away Monday May 28 2012, at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Hudson , NY on August 19, 1952; he was the son of Richard Walsh and Eleanor Mc Naughton Walsh of Chatham. Steve started his career in law enforcement as a Chatham Police Officer and retired as an officer with the NYS Department of Corrections, Hudson. He graduated from Chatham High School and attended Columbia Greene CC, Hudson. Steve was a member of the Chatham Fire Department and past officer with Sanford Hook & Ladder, Life member of the Chatham Rescue Squad, member of the Tri-Village Rod & Gun Club, member of S.A.S.S., & N R A. Steve was a participant in the NYS Finest Pistol Club and won several marksmanship awards in competition. He enjoyed fishing/boating and was a member of the Kinderhook Lake Corporation. Survivors include his wife Mary Jane Whiteman Walsh, 4 children: Michael Collier, Nicole (Paul) Jordan, Timothy (Crystal) Walsh & Jason (Coleen) Walsh: 9 grandchildren: Erik, Jennifer & James Collier, Rachel, Katherine, Lindsay & Megan Jordan, Grace & Samuel Walsh. He is also survived by his mother Eleanor Walsh & sisters Colleen (Jeff) Steward and Judith (Nik) Torres and nieces and nephews.
