Teresa M. Pando of East Chatham, died on December1st at her home. She was born May 3, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Henrietta O'Brien Fallon.
Teresa grew up and was educated in Queens, NY. After school she worked in NYC as an operator for the NY Telephone Company. She later raised her family in Floral Park before locating to East Chatham over 30 years ago.
She was very active at St. Mary's Parish in Nassau, NY, a member of the Secular Order of St. Francis for over 45 years, the Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed sewing and was a great cook. The most important part of her life was her family and her children will always be thankful for the loving and happy home she provided along with her great sense of humor and constant smile.
She is survived by four daughters, Teresa Fitzgerald of Pittsfield, Mass., Joann Schnurr of East Chatham, Ellen Klemballa of Huntington Station, Suffolk County, and Barbara Tucker of Lima, Ohio; two sons, James Schnurr of Rhinebeck and John Schnurr of Rocky Point, Suffolk Point; her sister Harriet Kane of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; her 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband John T.; her two brothers, Joseph Fallon and Edward Doyle and her sister Teresa DiRocco.
Family will receive friends Friday December 4th. from 3 to 8 pm at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl funeral home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's church in Nassau, on Saturday at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau, NY.
