Therese Marie VanAlstyne Brown, 40, of Chatham, NY died Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Columbia Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved daughter of King VanAlstyne and Priscilla McArthur, sister of Kindra VanAlstyne, granddaughter of Lorraine McArthur and loving and proud mother of Jordan, Kyleigh and Isaiah Brown. Born September 13, 1974, in Hudson, NY, Therese was a lifelong resident of Columbia County. She graduated from Chatham High School with the class of 1992. After working for Taconic Telephone and Fairpoint Communications, she was a cherished member of the Mary E. Dardess Elementary School staff. Therese is survived by her parents King VanAlstyne and Priscilla McArthur, Grandmother Lorraine McArthur, sister Kindra VanAlstyne, partner Jeremy Van Ness, three children Jordan, Kyleigh and Isaiah Brown and step son Tevin Van Ness. She also leaves behind an extended network of very loving aunts, uncles, nephews and close friends.
