Thomas Brown Whiffen Jr.

Thomas Brown Whiffen Jr. of Austerlitz died peacefully December 8th at home.  He was born in Springfield, MA on December 21, 1935, the son of the lateThomas Brown and Myrtle Winters Whiffen. Thomas attended school in White Plains, NY and later moved to Lee, MA.He was employed at Mead Corporation in Lee, MA first as a watchman andlater in Quality Control. After retirement in 1994 he settled in Spencertown, NY. He was an avid sportsman and loved baseball, never missing a Yankeegame. His everything was his family. He is survived by his daughter; Linda (Joseph) O'Dell of Chatham, hisgrandchildren; Megan, Jake and Kristin all of Chatham, 2 brothers;Wesley of Becket, MA and Peter of Pittsfield, MA. He is also survived by numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday from 11am to 1 pm at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl funeral home, Chatham.
