Victoria C. Metzger passed away January 20th at Ghent Rehab. Born December 21, 1919 in New York City, Vicky was 101 years old, moving to Nassau as a young child and remaining there.
She worked at M. Solomon Furriers for over forty years and served as the tax collector for the Town of Nassau for forty-four years, retiring at 90. She belonged to the Order of Eastern Star attended Kinderhook Reformed Church and had belonged to the Nassau Republican Club; The United Methodist Women and had been a Sunday School Teacher. Vicky enjoyed bowling and Yahtzee. She loved her family dearly and they all loved and cherished her.
She is survived by her daughters; Robin (Robert) Ginett, Nancy (James) Baker, Stepdaughter Ann LeCroy, daughter in law Carol (William) Metzger, grandchildren; Christine (Christopher) Blackwood, Kimberly Appel, Michael (Meaghann) Appel, Nicholas Ginett, Jessica (Dennis) Fletcher, Stacey Williams, Janet (David) Best, Melinda Metzger, Paul (Kelly) Metzger, many great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Vicky was predeceased by her husband, Clifford, Brothers; Walter, Stanley, Joseph Czapluk and stepson, William Metzger.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 24th from 2-4pm at the French, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home. Interment will be Monday January 25th at the Old Chatham Union Cemetery at 11am with an Eastern Star service.
