Vincent A. Marasco Sr. of Chatham passed away November 15, 2014 at his home. Born February 16, 1937 in the Bronx, Vincent was the son of the late Alfred and Mary Avallone Marasco. Vinnie served in the US Army Corp. of Engineers (83rd) in France from 1955 1957. He worked for the Hudson City Schools, retiring in October of 1999. He was a life member of the Royal Order of Blue Vests and the Chatham Fire Department. His greatest love was his grandchildren and watching Vincent III and Lilianna, to them known as Papa.  Vincent is survived by his children; Susan Fornaro of Berkley Heights, NJ, Valerie Writenour of Boonton, NJ, Alfred Marasco, (Rebbekkah) of Dade City, Florida and Vincent Marasco Jr. (Cherie) of Chatham, his grandchildren; Anthony, Jaime, Margo, Kyle, Terese, Vincent III and Lilianna, great grandchild, Carmine of Florida, brother, Fred Marasco (Fran) of Wappinger Falls, NY, sister, Lorraine Kaninenberg of Chatham, NY and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home on Thursday, November 20th. from 4 to 7 pm.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am in Saint James Church, Chatham. Interment will follow at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
