William Hilary Hogencamp, Sr. of Chatham
NY, died at Barnwell Nursing Home, on July
25, 2009, at the age of 87.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, 5 adult
children and their spouses, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 2
sisters. He will also be missed by his 15
nieces and nephews, their children and many surviving cousins.
William was born in Boston, served in
the army during WWII, and spent most of his life in New England, living in Chatham
since 1967. He loved hunting, boating,
puttering with his cameras and cooking. To those that knew him, he will be
remembered as a storyteller, for his sweet tooth, his sense of humor, and his amazing
collection of clutter.
For those who wish to pay their respects, a funeral mass will
be held for his cremated remains on August 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the St. James church in Chatham. An Irish wake will follow in Schodack –
details may be found at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl website,
www.frenchblasl.com. To everything there is a season...
In
lieu of flowers those that wish to may make a contribution to the Salvation
Army in William's memory.
