William J. Hughes 65, of Chatham passed away peacefully on Saturday October the 20th at Albany Medical Center. He was a lifetime resident of the village of Chatham were he graduated from Chatham High School. He was a life member of the Chatham Fire Department where he served as a past Chief. He was an avid outdoorsman and quite the history buff. He was a loving brother, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed. He is survived by a brother Steven M. Hughes (Teresa Hughes) of Chatham, a son Nicholas J. Hughes (Tina M. McCagg) of Niverville, a daughter Tricia L. Bliss (Lyle E. Bliss) of Chatham, a niece Brittany J. Hughes, a nephew Charles M. Hughes, and 4 grandchildren Nevaeh Chamberlin, Aiden Bliss, and Cheyenne and William Rathbun. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October the 26th from 4-7 PM at French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home in Chatham.
