William T. Peluso of East Chatham, NY passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 24, 2012. Bill was born in Stephentown, NY on Oct. 10, 1939 and graduated from Berlin Central High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1958–1962, stationed first at Clinton-Sherman Air Force Base in Oklahoma and was then assigned to the 6313th Air Police Squad at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan.
He married Jessie M. (nee Vokey) Peluso in 1963 in Rhinebeck, NY. Besides his wife, he leaves behind one daughter, Kristie L. Wade of East Chatham, NY, former son-in-law, Kevin R. Wade of Hancock, MA, and his two beloved grandchildren, Rachael L. and William G. Wade also of East Chatham, NY. Additionally, he leaves behind his parents, Jerry T. and Doris Peluso of Levittown, NY, two sisters from Pittsfield, MA, Gail (Karl) Knutson, and Lynn Peluso, sister Sandy Austin from Bellmore, NY, sister Toni Stoll from East Meadow, NY, sister Leslie (Frank) Bonariggo from Melbourne, FL, brother, Walter Peluso from Levittown, NY, sister Anita Maloney from Ronkonkoma, NY, and brother Jimmy Peluso (Nancy) from Syosset, NY, several nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends.
Bill loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, enjoying many special trips to Canada and the Adirondacks with his nephew, Joshua Austin of Bellmore, NY. He was a life long NY Yankee Fan and enjoyed watching professional hockey. In his retirement years, Bill enjoyed working part-time at Wood Hill Veterinary Clinic in Old Chatham, NY where he was dearly loved by both the two-legged and four-legged clientele. He loved traveling to the National Parks and had made several trips to Yellowstone and Grand Teton. He enjoyed history and anything written about the American West. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30th. from 5-7:30 pm, with a religious service at 7:30, at French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home in Chatham, NY.
