William Patrick Willis, 69, of Berlin, NY passed away unexpectedly at home April 4th, 2020.
William was born in Chatham, NY on September 6th, 1950 and attended Chatham High School. William worked in the paper industry for 35+ years and retired from Bennington Paper Board which was previously Columbia Box Board.
When William was a younger man he enjoyed driving and training standard bred horses, primarily based out of the Chatham Fairgrounds. William raced his horses all over the North East area with his horse Yellow Venture bringing him the most wins. William's favorite horse was Harlem Georgia.
William is survived by his three children, Martin (Rebecka) Willis, Cameron (Robert) Kilmer, Kimberly (Michael) Hooper and his grandchildren Morgan, Alexander, Oscar, Hazel, Charles, Colby and angel babies Parker and Brayden.
Additionally, William is survived by Harold (Karen) Willis, David Willis, and Holly (Joe) Nicoll, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
William is preceded in death by his father Fredrick Willis, Sr., mother Arlene Holly Willis, and two brothers James Willis and Frederick Willis, Jr.
A graveside service and burial honoring William will be performed October 23, 2021 at 11:00am at Cemetery of the Maples, East Chatham, NY. If you wish to honor William please donate to your local VFW as he was a strong supporter.
